The VANGUARD project realised its second consortium meeting on the 22nd and the 23rd of April 2024 at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) premises in Milan. During this two-day event, VANGUARD partners had the opportunity to gather together and present the 6-month progress of each of their activities since the beginning of the project. Emphasis was given on developing a concrete plan for the social and societal desktop and empirical research around the online and offline THB landscape, along with the relevant ethical and legal framework that encapsulates these activities. Parallel to that, the technical partners of the project provided an in-depth overview of the progress made on the proposed cutting-edge AI technologies, reiterating the project’s commitment to upholding ethical standards in AI research. The meeting concluded with a detailed plan that will be followed until the next project meeting.
