On July 2nd, 2026, VANGUARD participated in the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) Projects Cluster event entitled “Emerging Digital Threats and Cyber Resilience”. The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) Projects Cluster is an initiative led by Privanova that brings together EU-funded projects relevant to the law enforcement community, and the VANGUARD project is a proud member of this cluster. The event provided the opportunity for more than 25 participants from several projects to exchange perspectives on emerging digital threats, cybersecurity challenges, and innovative approaches developed within the European security research landscape. The programme included the presentation of the Digital and Cyber Crime Scoping Working Group 1 Results, a keynote contribution from the Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC), and introductions to new projects joining the Cluster community.

VANGUARD, represented by its Coordinator, the M4D group of the MKLab of the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) at the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), presented the project’s main objectives, the key social-scientific findings emerging from the project’s ongoing research activities, including insights into evolving trafficking patterns, victim protection considerations, and policy recommendations aimed at enhancing operational responses and cross-border cooperation among law enforcement and security stakeholders. In parallel, they presented the VANGUARD ToolSuite, along with its capabilities to support law enforcement authorities in identifying trafficking activities, analysing complex criminal networks, and improving intelligence-led investigations.
